Privacy policy

Last updated: September 9, 2026

This policy explains exactly what HardwareProbe does and does not collect. The short version: every test runs inside your own browser, and your audio, video, keystrokes, touches and controller input never reach us.

Who is responsible for this site

HardwareProbe is operated by an independent developer based in Kazakhstan. For anything relating to this policy, including a request about your data, write to kazlabs.co@gmail.com. Messages are read by a person, not a ticketing system.

What the tests do with your data

Every tool on this site is client-side. Your browser hands the data straight to the page running on your own device, the page processes it in memory to draw a meter, a trail or a reading, and then discards it. There is no upload step anywhere in this site, and no server-side processing of any of it.

Because the microphone, camera and full-screen features need explicit access, your browser will ask permission before they start. That prompt comes from your browser rather than from us, and you can withdraw the permission at any time from the icon at the left of the address bar.

What we do not collect

There is no account system, no newsletter, no comment section and no contact form on this site. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or any other personal detail, and there is nowhere on the site to enter them. We do not use analytics software, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

If you email us, we hold that email in order to reply to you, in the same way any correspondence is held.

Browser storage

One feature uses local storage: the click speed test remembers your best score for each duration so it survives a page reload. It is a single entry under the key hardwareprobe.cps.best, it stays on your device, and it is not readable by us. Clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings removes it. Nothing else on the site writes to local storage, session storage or cookies.

Server logs and hosting

This site is hosted on Cloudflare, which acts as our hosting and content delivery provider. As with essentially every website, the infrastructure records standard technical information when a page is requested: the IP address making the request, the time, the page requested, the referring page and the browser user agent.

These records exist for security, abuse prevention and reliability. They are retained for a limited period by the provider, are not used to build a profile of you, and are not combined with anything else. Cloudflare operates servers worldwide, so a request may be served from a location outside your own country. Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf under its own data processing terms.

Advertising and cookies

This site currently displays no advertising and sets no advertising or analytics cookies of any kind. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any advertising is served, and visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland will be asked for consent first.

Your rights

Because the site collects no personal information through its pages, there is normally nothing for us to export, correct or delete on request. Where you do have rights over data we hold — for example an email you sent us — we will honour them.

Depending on where you live you may have rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA, the Personal Data law of the Republic of Kazakhstan or similar legislation, including the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to object to its processing and to complain to your local supervisory authority. To exercise any of these, write to kazlabs.co@gmail.com.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising other than through the advertising cookies described above, where advertising is enabled and you have consented to it.

Children

This is a general-audience utility site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and it will be deleted.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so traffic between your browser and the server is encrypted. Since the site holds no user accounts and stores no personal data, there is no database of user information to breach.

External links

Some pages link to manufacturer support documents and other outside resources. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, and we suggest reading their own policies.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page is updated. Material changes — such as introducing advertising, analytics or any third-party script — will be reflected here before they take effect, not afterwards.

Contact

Questions about this policy can be sent to kazlabs.co@gmail.com, or through the contact page.
